Amelia Walker

At a young age Amelia’s passion became eventing, and her lifetime ambition to ride round Badminton and win medals. Coming from a background with no knowledge of horses, Amelia has always had to work hard and do everything herself. Amelia’s main passion is working out each individual horse and what makes them tick. Producing them from a young age is something she’s always done and thrives off watching each horse grow and mature. 

2013 brought Amelia’s first taste of Badminton when she came 5th at the BE100 Grassroots Championships on Quinte Z, a horse she produced herself.

2017 was a really exciting year for Amelia. She competed in her first 3 day event at Hartpury International and won the CCI-L2* on E Boy a horse she produced herself from a 5 year old. She also came 8th in the CCI-L3* on Director General. Amelia then went on to go double clear and complete her first Advanced, also on Director General.

From 2019 – 2022 Amelia worked as competition rider for Dassett Eventing alongside running her yard at home. This was a great opportunity to produce and compete their young horses. It saw many top 10 results throughout the 4 years, including winning 5yo qualifiers, a 3rd and 5th at the 5yo Championships, and a CCI2*S win on Dassett Rockstar. Amelia learnt so much from her time at Dassett and it has really shaped the rider she is today. 

2023 is the first year solely running the yard at home.  With a yard of really lovely horses we’re really looking forward to what it brings. Amelia’s top horse (Dassett Curra Candy) is aiming for Blenheim 8/9yo’s, which has always been a dream to compete there so exciting things ahead!
