Amelia

At a young age Amelia’s passion became eventing, and her lifetime ambition to ride round Badminton and win medals. Coming from a background with no knowledge of horses, Amelia has always had to work hard and do everything herself. Amelia’s main passion is working out each individual horse and what makes them tick. Producing them from a young age is something she’s always done and thrives off watching each horse grow and mature.

In her first few years eventing Amelia qualified for Badminton grassroots and finished 5th overall. A few years later she competed in her first long format classes at Hartpury International and won the CCI2*L on a quirky horse called E Boy that she’d produced from a 5yo. This was great result and really spurred her on for success on the international stage. She also finished 8th in the CCI3*L on Director General who was a lovely ex racehorse. Later on that year they jumped double clear around their first advanced.

From 2019 – 2022 Amelia worked as competition rider for Dassett Eventing alongside running her yard at home. This was a great opportunity to produce and compete their young horses. It saw many top 10 results throughout the 4 years, including winning 5yo qualifiers, a 3rd and 5th at the 5yo Championships, and a CCI2*S win on Dassett Rockstar. Amelia learnt so much from her time at Dassett and it has really shaped the rider she is today. Dassett Select and Dassett Rockstar, both produced by Amelia, have now gone onto 5* level with their new riders which is very exciting.

In 2023 Amelia based herself back on her lovely yard at home full time.  Since doing so, she’s jumped double clear around Blenheim 8/9yo’s with a super mare called Dassett Curra Candy. As a partnership they have also had some intermediate wins and great results at Burgham and Bramham 4*S. Amelia also produced Aquila II for Albertine Barker from a 5yo, she then went on to finish 9th in the 6yo Championships at Cornbury Park which was a great achievement. With plenty of top 10 results achieved at national level with all the young horses, there’s looks to look forward to as they mature and step up the levels!

Amelia was also selected onto the Howden Way young horse programme for 2025 with NWF Demolux, an exciting 6yo. This was due to his great consistent results. This is a great programme which offers a huge amount of training with the best coaches in the country. Amelia is excited to keep learning and progressing with this invaluable help.
